Things to do in Malta

Harbour cruise
As an island nation, Malta’s ties to the sea are immutable. When in Malta you have to experience the majestic Grand Harbour by boat. The spectacular fortified bastion walls of the capital give way to the iconic skyline, as you cruise along the deep blue sea below.
Diving
The Maltese Islands are renowned as a fantastic diving spot. There are many options for both beginners and advanced divers – with a choice of natural underwater geological formations such as the popular Blue Hole, as well as many wrecks at varying depths to enjoy.
Gozo
A trip to Gozo is always worth it, especially considering the short ferry crossing is only a 30-minute journey. Time your visit to coincide with Gozo’s opera season – this usually takes place in October/November. Gozo’s two opera houses – the Astra and the Aurora - are both located in Rabat. While you’re there, make sure to visit the gloriously restored Cittadella and also the seaside town of Xlendi.
Cooking class
The Maltese have a profound relationship with their food – from the simple pastizz to the elaborate rabbit stew. You can really start to understand a culture by delving into its national dishes – so why not try a cooking class? Taking inspiration from fresh Maltese vegetables, local meat, and fresh fish, a cooking class can open your eyes and fill your stomach.
Game of Thrones tour
Sure, when visiting some of Malta’s historic sites, it can feel like stepping back in time. But what if you could actually step into a fantasy location? You can do just that by joining a Game of Thrones tour of Malta, visiting the real locations that were used in filming Season One of the epic series.
Museums
If you’re into art and history then you’re sure to find a museum to catch your attention in Malta. The Inquisitor’s Palace [https://heritagemalta.org/the-inquisitors-palace/] in Birgu dates back to the 16th Century when it was used as a tribunal and prison. Malta’s art museum, MUŻA, is located in Valletta and showcases Maltese artists within a historic building. Bonus: there are spectacular Megalithic temples scattered around Malta and Gozo. These haunting structures provide an intense retrospective into ancient Mediterranean culture.
